Because it is a real contract negotiated between two organizations' legal teams, it is not a form you fill out. It is drafted, reviewed, and often redlined before anyone signs, which is why the timeline can stretch.
How long does the Affiliation Agreement take?
It can take up to six months to negotiate. That is WGU's own guidance, and it reflects the back-and-forth between the site's legal team and WGU over contract terms.
Because you need a minimum of two clinical sites, you may be running two of these negotiations at once, each on its own six-month clock. This is the single biggest reason NP students miss an intended Clinical Internship start term.
